Mexican Halberd Studios has introduced a two-dimensional action-platformer Mariachi Legends, in which players will participate in fierce battles as a detective.

The authors drew inspiration from Ninja Gaiden and Castlevania, and the combinations of blows and juggling enemies are reminiscent of Devil May Cry.

There are also memorable Resident Evil-style bosses and colorful pixel art similar to Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon.

As for the gameplay, the fast-paced fights are taken from Katana Zero, where players fail, get angry, but still decide to try again.

Mariachi Legends is at an early stage of development, but it already looks pretty nice.

In addition to the two-dimensional world, the game is characterized by adaptive complexity in combination with roguelike elements.

Halberd Studios respects Japanese culture, so the debut trailer was not voiced in the studio's native language.

Guadalajara, where the team is located, has a multinational life: there is Asian culture, French, Arabic and Spanish, and they are all mixed together.

In addition, the developers say, the best Mexican-themed game, Guacamelee, is made in Canada.
