At the same time, long-time fans will be able to find in Avowed a common connection with Pillars of Eternity.
For example, several characters will return, which old players will remember, in particular, from Deadfire.
Also, those who have played the original games will be able to learn some parts of the world and factions.
The narrator from the gameplay trailer is called Kai - he will be one of the first companions to meet in the game.
He has seen a lot and served as a soldier in the ranks of mercenaries, and also has a unique sense of humor, bringing a spirit of levity and camaraderie to the party.
The main character will not be a Guardian, but he has a unique spiritual connection with the world, providing him with a connection with the Living Lands and some mysterious forces that operate there.
Avowed will be comparable in scale to Knights of the Old Republic 2 or The Outer Worlds and will offer a series of interconnected open areas that players can explore at their own pace, bypassing every nook and cranny or moving more straightforwardly.
Avowed will be released in 2024 on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
