Starting with the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 generation, patches coming out on the day of the launch of games have become the norm.

Sometimes they are small and aimed at eliminating several errors identified at the last moment, but sometimes updates can weigh tens of gigabytes.

In the case of the upcoming Final Fantasy XVI, the game was sent to the "gold" surprisingly early, already 2, 5 months before the release, and with all this, the developers confirmed that they were not preparing any patches for it on the first day.

In an interview with GameInformer, FFXVI game director Hiroshi Takai said that the team is confident in the final build of their project, and producer Naoki Yoshida believes that the game should be ready to launch without having to download any updates on the release, as he understands that not everyone has access to the Internet necessary to download the patch of the first day.

Nevertheless, Takai notes that the developers continue to test the game daily and look for possible errors, so closer to the release everything may change, but now, as in the days of the old Final Fantasy, the new part should be fully working "out of the box".

The game will be released on June 22 on PlayStation 5.
