The employees of GameStop stores in the United States received an order from the management to destroy the remaining copies of the failed role-playing action Babylon's Fall from the studio PlatinumGames, reports the publication VGC.

Earlier, Square Enix closed the project in digital format and announced that it will shut down the servers in February 2023 — after which it will actually become useless, since it was promoted primarily as a multiplayer and service model.

Journalists note that in some outlets GameStop employees agree to give visitors the remaining copies of Babylon's Fall intended for destruction, free of charge.

People explain that they just want to add them to their collection — put them on the shelf for beauty. Babylon's Fall was released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC in February 2022.

The critics' feedback and sales turned out to be overwhelming.
