According to Microsoft, Activision's long-term plan for Call of Duty Mobile is to "gradually" abandon the game and replace it with Warzone Mobile, which is scheduled for release this year.

This is stated in Microsoft's recently published response to the investigation of the British antitrust regulator regarding the acquisition of Activision Blizzard.

"CoD: Mobile was developed and owned by Time Studios, a subsidiary of Tencent. It is expected that sometime after the launch of Warzone Mobile, CoD:Mobile will be phased out (outside of China)."

Call of Duty: Mobile was developed by the Chinese studio TiMi, owned by Tencent, and launched in 2019.

The shooter reached record levels in 2021 and earned more than $ 1 billion after a surge in downloads coincided with the release of the game in China.

Warzone Mobile, in turn, is already being created by the internal studios of Activision itself. The announcement of the game took place in September 2022.
