The parent company Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, continues on the path of war against the creators of mods for GTA. The new victim of the publisher was a fan remaster of Grand Theft Auto IV.

The Definitive Edition Project team announced that its Internet host has recently received a notification from Rockstar or Take-Two citing the Copyright Act (DMCA) demanding the removal of Grand Theft Auto IV: Definitive Edition - a collection of mods and unofficial patches aimed at significantly improving the graphics and gameplay of the original GTA 4 for PC, released 14 years ago.

"I knew this day would come. Here we received DMCA from Rockstar (probably) on our patch GTA IV DE.

Well, I suppose now we will have to remove from the site everything related to GTA IV, "- said D. E. P. through his Twitter account. Subsequent tweet Definitive Edition Project noted that so far only GTA 4 fell under the removal.

Mods for the original trilogy presented on the site remain safe, but the developers are not too sure that access to them will be possible for a long time.

It is noteworthy that Rockstar previously carried out similar actions before the announcement of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, which, although it had a lot of quality problems, sold well at the start.

However, the remaster of GTA 4 from Rockstar is unlikely to be released soon, given that now the company has thrown all forces on Grand Theft Auto 6, terminating active support for the released games, and, according to reports, the development of new reprints too.
