On October 20, pre-orders of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II received early access to the single-player campaign.

After that, PC players discovered that even for a singleplayer, the shooter requires a constant network connection. Considering that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is available as in Battle.

net, as well as on Steam, it was assumed that in the case of the latter, the game would be able to work offline, but this turned out not to be the case, and without a stable Internet connection, the launch of the singleplayer is impossible.

Users were disappointed with the presence of the "always online" DRM system in the new shooter, since it is considered an anti-consumer practice.

If the network connection turns out to be unstable or the shooter servers go into maintenance, players will most likely be kicked out of their session.

In addition, another requirement on a PC is the mandatory confirmation of an account by a mobile phone number with text message support.

At the same time, despite all this, the early launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II became one of the best in the series on Steam. The full release of the game will take place on October 28.
