The Digital Extremes team, best known for the network shooter Warframe, officially announced a new free fantasy action MMORPG with the open world of Soulframe.
The project is currently at an early stage of development. The playable build may appear before the end of this year.
The central idea of the new project will be a "clash of nature and humanity". The game was created under the "significant influence of the themes of nature, renaissance and exploration".
The authors drew inspiration from such works as "Princess Mononoke" directed by Hayao Miyazaki and "Endless History" by Wolfgang Petersen.
Apparently, players will have access to an open hub world, similar to the new planets with a similar structure from Warframe, but it will pay more attention to research.
In underground locations, whether cave networks or crevices, the environment will be generated procedurally and react negatively to bad actions of players.
Soulframe will offer players a mix of fantasy and fantasy, and unlike Warframe will focus around hand-to-hand combat.
