As you know, the upcoming Final Fantasy XVI will be darker and more violent compared to the previous games in the series, in particular, due to the presence of violent scenes and sexual themes, which caused some fans to associate with the popular fantasy series "Game of Thrones" based on the novels "A Song of Ice and Fire" by George Martin.
And for a reason.
It turned out that the main team of 30 developers, before starting to create Final Fantasy XVI, had to watch the series "Game of Thrones" to recreate a similar atmosphere of mundane fantasy.
The producer told about this in an interview with the Eurogamer portal Naoki Yoshida.
"When we first started creating the game, our core team, which is about 30 people, bought a Blu-ray box set with Game of Thrones.
The employees were asked to watch the series, because we wanted to achieve exactly this feeling," said the developer.
Journalists note that the developers of Final Fantasy XVI turned out to have an exciting plot — with unexpected twists, intrigues and palace coups.
In any case, this impression is formed by several hours shown in the preview. The release of Final Fantasy XVI is scheduled for June 22 exclusively for PlayStation 5.
