The creators of Ravenbound presented a new developer diary at the PC Gaming Show: 2023 Preview, dedicating it to the combat system and the device of the world.
The Swedish studio Systematic Reaction, which is part of Avalanche Studios Group, is engaged in roglight action. The latter may be familiar to players from the Just Cause series.
Ravenbound takes place in the fantasy world of Avalt, created on the basis of Scandinavian folklore, where the hero acts as a vessel of ancient energy, whose weapons and skills will help fulfill his destiny.
The Vessel contains a powerful weapon created by the ancient gods, the Raven. His sacred duty is to rid Avalt of the Traitor and the dark forces.
Realizing that the mission would take more than one generation, the gods made the bodies of the warriors guides.
After the deceased ward, another warrior becomes the Raven's guide, receiving some previously discovered skills. So the authors of Ravenbound beat the roglight mechanics.
It is worth mentioning the deck building feature, which gives players access to more powerful equipment and weapons with each new life.
It is necessary to constantly replenish the deck after the death of the hero, treating the system with all care. Ravenbound is being developed for PC.
