The story continues: Sony talked in detail about the plot of God of War: Ragnarok and new challenges for Kratos with Atreus

Sony has unveiled a 10-minute video about the plot of God of War: Ragnarok.

The developers have launched a series of videos on the eve of the release of the game in order to tell what trials Kratos and Atreus will face. The first episode is dedicated to history.

Senior narrative producer Ariel Angelotti, lead screenwriter Richard Gober and Jodi Kapsko, who is responsible for the production of dialogues, commented on what was happening.

The events unfold several years after the previous part. Kratos and Atreus live in Midgard and hide in their old house from the gods of the northern pantheon.

The father worries about his son, who continues to grow up. The characters will have to "go through hell", but the upcoming adventures will put an end to the exploration of the local region.

The murder of Balder greatly angered Odin, who is grieving after the loss of his son. Freya wants to avenge him even more.

Baldur's disappearance brought a harsh winter lasting three years into the world.

After it, according to legend, Ragnarok should begin, where gods, elves, dwarves and other creatures will come together in battle.

In the wanderings, the heroes will encounter Thor, who often did dirty work Alone, which is why he got a bad temper and unstable behavior.

Players are waiting for a new round in the relationship of Kratos with non-player characters, including Brock, Sindri, Mimir and new heroes.

As a result, we had to revise the plans and increase the scale of the project in order to complete all the plot threads and adequately show Ragnarok.

The recording of voice acting and animation began right before the pandemic, which is why the developers had to adapt to the rapidly changing realities on the go.

Due to the coronavirus, the number of actors was reduced. Some artists substituted background characters so that a lot of people would not accumulate in the studio.

God of War: Ragnarok will be released on November 9, 2022 on PS4 and PS5. In the next video, Sony is going to highlight the combat system.

In total, nine more similar videos are planned to be shown.
