Capcom has shared updated sales statistics of the horror Resident Evil: Village.
According to a recent report, as of May 31, worldwide sales of the last major part of the franchise at the moment exceeded 8 million copies.
A new milestone was reached two years after the release of the game.
At the moment, the eighth Resident Evil is located in sales between the remake of Resident Evil 3 (7 million copies) and Resident Evil 6 (8.6 million copies).
Resident Evil: Village was released on May 7, 2021 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
Then, on October 28, 2022, the project received the Shadows of Rose story extension and at the same time became available on the Nintendo Switch as a cloud version.
PlayStation 5 users this February also received an update with VR mode for the PlayStation VR2 virtual reality headset.
