Capcom has released a new update for Resident Evil: Village on PC, which removed the Denuvo anti-unauthorized access technology from the horror.
The company also removed the mention of Denuvo from the game's page in the Steam store. Thus, it can be said that the deletion was done intentionally, and not accidentally.
Resident Evil: Village was released in May 2021, that is, the developers kept the game with Denuvo for almost two years, despite the fact that the hack occurred a month after the release.
At the same time, removing Denuvo from its releases is not new for Capcom.
Previously, anti-piracy protection was officially cut from the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, Devil May Cry 5 and Monster Hunter: World.
