Insiders commented on the development of Fable for Xbox Series X|S and PC

The next game in the Fable series, announced for the Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2020, is still very far from release, according to sources of VGC editor Andy Robinson.

The journalist said that the game has only recently reached the stage of full-fledged production, respectively, it may take years before its launch.

Interestingly, sources call the new Fable "a game in the style of The Witcher", which may indicate a darker tone of the relaunch compared to the predecessors from the disbanded Lionhead Studios.

Playground Games, known for the Forza Horizon series, is responsible for the development of the new RPG.

Earlier, the head of Xbox Game Studios, Matt Bootie, said that the authors of the new Fable for Xbox Series X|S and PC have made serious progress, and the game itself looks very good.

According to Jason Schreier, the co-developer of the RPG is the studio Eidos, which has entered into a partnership with Microsoft.
