The producer of Final Fantasy XVI is interested in releasing the game on PC

Square Enix is interested in releasing Final Fantasy XVI on PC, but this does not mean that the port will appear six months after the premiere of the game on PlayStation 5, producer Naoki Yoshida said in an interview with Famitsu.

"It's true that we have a contract with Sony for a six-month exclusivity of the game for PlayStation 5, but the PC version cannot be prepared in 6 months.

We spent a lot of time, effort and money on optimizing Final Fantasy XVI for PlayStation 5 in order to release the highest quality product.

We would like to move the game to PC one day in order to reach as many players as possible. But the truth is that it's impossible to optimize this RPG for PC in six months.

It is difficult to do this job in such a short period of time. So yes, we are interested in a PC version, but I can't say when that might happen.

The team tried very hard, and we would really like you to play our game on PlayStation 5," Yoshida explained.

For the first time, the six-month exclusivity of Final Fantasy XVI for PlayStation 5 became known from a Sony console commercial. The premiere of Final Fantasy XVI is scheduled for June 22, 2023.
