The actor Giancarlo Esposito, who played the main antagonist in Far Cry 6, talked about this during his performance at Fan Expo Canada 2022.

Asked from the audience if he would like to play a game on "Star Wars", Esposito replied that he would be happy about it, and then added that he had heard that Navid Havari of Ubisoft Montreal, who worked on Far Cry, had just switched to "Star Wars" and "is doing something" for the Swedish studio publisher.

In addition to Far Cry, Hawari previously worked as a senior writer for the first division and narrative designer for Assassin's Creed: Unity and Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

Star Wars by Massive Entertainment was announced in early 2021 at an early stage of development. It will be a story-oriented game in the open world on the Snowdrop Engine.

The creative director is Julian Jerity, responsible for The Division 2 and The Crew.
