Bayonetta 3 for Nintendo Switcn has gone platinum more than a million copies have been sold in the opening quarter

Bayonetta 3 has joined the large list of platinum exclusives of the Switch console — at the end of the starting quarter, its sales exceeded the mark of 1 million copies, Nintendo announced.

The data is current as of December 31, 2022.

On March 17, Bayonetta's adventures will continue in the new game Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, and on March 29, the official soundtrack of Bayonetta 3 will be released.

Bayonetta 3 reached the millionth mark on Switch faster than other games PlatinumGames — in just two months. Astral Chain took seven months to do this, and Bayonetta 2 port took more than three years.

In the history of the studio, Bayonetta 3 became the sixth game with million-dollar sales.

Bayonetta creator Hideki Kamiya hopes to continue the series. Last fall, he said that in order to fully reveal the story arc of Bayonetta, it would be necessary to release at least six more games.
