The upcoming Tekken 8 fighting game will receive support for cross-platform multiplayer. The information was confirmed by the producer of the franchise Katsuhiro Harada.

He added that he had offered to implement crossplay back in the days of Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but then, according to him, both platforms could not come to an agreement on this issue "because of mutual interests and P2P security issues" and repeatedly refused such an opportunity.

In a separate tweet, Harada also confirmed that Tekken 8 will receive a rollback of the network code (compensates for the delay in entering commands when playing online).

The producer explained that they did not make special announcements out of this, because in that case there would be those who said that these functions are now taken for granted, and there should be nothing surprising in this.

Tekken 8 will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. There is no release date yet.
