Final Fantasy XVI will allow the player to take control of a second playable character besides Clive Rosfield.
Developers Naoki Yoshida, Hiroshi Takai and Kazutoe Maehiro told about this during a recent interview. The main character in the adventures will be accompanied by several characters.
The trailers show battles involving Clive, where he fights alone, purely to understand the combat system. However, most of the journeys in Final Fantasy XVI will take place in a group of comrades.
They will not allow you to play as party members — the characters follow Clive and fight independently under the control of AI without user intervention.
However, in the early stages, players will be able to control characters other than Clive.
The developers stressed that the production of Final Fantasy XVI is almost over, and at the moment the project is in a playable state — it can be completed several times.
Earlier it was reported that Final Fantasy XVI will be a PS5 exclusive for six months. Presumably, the game will then be released on other platforms.
