As you know, Sony has splurged on the six-month exclusivity of Final Fantasy XVI for PlayStation 5, but the game's producer Naoki Yoshida admitted that the deal with the company went beyond the monetary issue.

In an interview with 4Gamer, Yoshida noted that an important factor in signing an exclusive agreement is the technical support that developers receive from the platform holder.

According to Yoshida, during the production of Final Fantasy XVI, there was a stage when the team worked together with Sony engineers who "thoroughly know the console hardware", and also received "generous optimization support" from them, which they could not cope with on their own.

In addition, Yoshida added that by developing the game for one platform, Square Enix was able to direct all its resources and manpower to get the "maximum return" from the capabilities of the PS5.

Final Fantasy XVI will be released on PlayStation 5 on June 22 with support for Russian subtitles, and a few weeks before that the demo version will be released.

Developers are also interested in the PC version to reach as many players as possible, but the release of a computer port six months after the console release is unlikely.
