Following the comparison of Dead Island 2 on PlayStation consoles, the ElAnalistaDeBits channel released the same video, but on Xbox.
As is the case with the PlayStation, one graphics mode is available on all Xbox.
The Xbox One and Xbox One X versions are limited to 30 frames per second and come in 900p and 1440p resolutions, respectively.
The Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X launch the game at 60 frames per second in 1080p and 1800p, respectively.
The Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X versions differ from Pastgen by ubiquitous visual improvements, including in terms of lighting, vegetation animations, ambient occlusion, drawing distance, and some post-processing effects.
At the same time, there are no dynamic shadows created by light sources such as flashlights on the Xbox Series S, and textures have a lower resolution than on the Xbox Series S. The Xbox One and Xbox One X versions, despite all the cuts, offer a good visual level.
On the Xbox Series X|S, ray tracing is also not used, as on the PS5, but due to the lack of a dynamic change of day, the developers were able to achieve a high level of baked global lighting, especially indoors, which cannot be said about the quality of reflections, some of which use low-resolution cubic maps, which spoils the overall visual picture.
Performance on all Xbox is generally flat, with the exception of small short-term drops in frame rate.
Similar to the PlayStation versions, the game in terms of work leaves a pleasant impression on any of the four Microsoft consoles. Dead Island 2 is released on April 21.
The Western press rated the game an average of 7 points.
