In the first five days of sales, Diablo IV generated $666 million in revenue, Blizzard Entertainment announced. This is the best result in the entire history of the series and the company as a whole.

The developers did not specify how many copies the game has sold to date, but noted that it set an absolute record both in the number of copies sold and in sales revenue.

Blizzard compared the revenue from the initial sales of Diablo IV with the weekly box office receipts of the most popular movie of 2023.

In total, the players managed to spend more than 276 million hours during the passage of the novelty — or more than 30 thousand years.

"We are delighted with this reaction and proud of our development teams.

We will listen to our players and do everything so that Diablo continues to exceed their expectations," said Mike Ibarra, president of Blizzard Entertainment.

Diablo IV can already be called one of the main game blockbusters of 2023. Previously, Hogwarts Legacy sold 12 million copies in the first two weeks.

In turn, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for Nintendo Switch attracted more than 10 million customers in the first three days.
