Nier: Automata continues to be one of Square Enix's most sought-after games over the past decade.

Today, the company announced that sales of the hit from Eko Taro and PlatinumGames have exceeded 7.5 million copies — over the past six months, users have bought 500 thousand copies.

Of the Japanese Square Enix games of the last two generations, only Final Fantasy XV has definitely sold out in large circulation — it has more than 10 million copies.

The last known sales of Dragon Quest XI and Kingdom Hearts III are more than 6 million copies and 6.7 million copies, respectively.

The publisher has not updated information about Final Fantasy VII Remake since the PlayStation 4 version sold 5 million copies — it was back in 2020.

At the same time, NieR: Automata did not have an AAA budget and much smaller sales were expected from it - before its appearance, not a single Tarot game published by Square Enix sold more than 1 million copies.
