In the early 2000s, major gaming companies, including Nintendo and Sega experimented with gaming peripherals, releasing fancy controllers in the form of bongos, maracas and bowling balls for their games.
Capcom did not stand aside from this trend, accompanying the launch of Resident Evil 4 with a chainsaw controller for the GameCube and PlayStation 2.
By the release of the Resident Evil 4 remake, Capcom developers would like to release a new version of the legendary controller.
Game director Yasuhiro Ampo and producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi told about this in an interview with Game Informer.
According to the developers, so far these plans had to be abandoned due to a lack of budget fully invested in the development of the game.
However, they noted that Capcom may consider the idea of releasing such a gamepad in the foreseeable future.
The remake of Resident Evil 4 will be released on March 24 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
