The shooter with asymmetric multiplayer Evolve, released in early 2015 and has not gained much popularity, will be finally closed this summer.

A notice has appeared on the 2K Games support site that from June 5, the company will stop supporting Evolve and begin the process of closing servers.

Within a month after that, the multiplayer of the game will be disabled, but users will be able to play through the peer-to-peer network for some time, and on July 6, the project will be completely closed and will no longer be available.

The developers noted that they appreciate the support and enthusiasm of the Evolve community shown in recent months, but it's time to redirect resources to other projects.

Evolve was originally released in 2015.

Due to the weak popularity, the shareware version of Evolve Stage 2 was released on the PC in 2016, but the interest of players was still low, which led to the early termination of support, and in 2018 the studio turned off the dedicated servers in the paid version and completely closed Evolve Stage 2.

Nevertheless, in July 2022, 2K suddenly returned the work of P2P multiplayer in Evolve Stage 2, which for a short time revived the project a little, but recently the number of people playing on the PC did not exceed 30-40 people at the same time.
