Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II tested on PlayStation - basic PS4 experiences problems with FPS stability

Yesterday, pre-orders of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II on the PlayStation opened early access to the beta multiplayer.

ElAnalistaDeBits has already familiarized itself with the game and shared the results of testing all versions of the game for Sony consoles, including the basic PS4, PS4 Pro and PS5.

PS4 launches the game in 1920 x 1080p with dynamic horizontal scaling. Most often, the resolution is 1344 x 1080p.

PS4 Pro launches the game in 2688 x 1512p with dynamic horizontal zoom. Most often the resolution is 2176 x 1512p. PS5 launches the game in 2160p resolution with temporary rendering reconstruction.

For the first time, it was possible to adjust the field of view on all platforms, including the old generation. The value can be extended to 120 degrees.

The video parameter is set to 90 degrees. PS5 offers enhanced quality shadows, surrounding shading, level of detail, anisotropic filtration and higher resolution texture.

The frame rate on the base PS4 is uneven in some places. At some points, there are drawdowns well below 60 frames per second.

On PS4 Pro, there are no noticeable performance dips. The PS5 has a stable 60 FPS, but there is currently no 120 frames per second mode in the beta version for the PS5.

In general, the quality and performance of the PS4 and PS4 Pro versions corresponds to the first Modern Warfare (2019).

The beta version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will be available until September 26. From tomorrow to September 20, the testing stage will be held for all owners of the PlayStation.

Then, from 22 to 23 September, beta will be able to join the pre-customers of the shooter on Xbox and PC, and from 24 to 26 September will be the final phase of testing in an open format on all platforms.

The full-fledged launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II will take place on October 28. Buyers of digital pre-orders will get early access to the campaign from October 20.
