Frozenbyte, known for the Trine series of games, joined the list of indie developers who shared their opinion on the effectiveness of the Xbox Game Pass.
And although the studio considers Microsoft's subscription service interesting, according to her, it also has a downside, contributing to a glut of content.
"Game Pass is undoubtedly an interesting service that allows you to reach more players.
However, the flip side of the coin, as we think, is that it also contributes to the oversaturation of the gaming space with content, and with such an abundance of choice, it can be difficult to single out some games and fully enjoy them," Frozenbyte said in an interview with SegmentNext.
Last week, Cococumber studio announced that the release of Ravenlok and its other games in Game Pass fully justified itself, allowing it to attract a large number of players, while Jumpship co-founder Dino Patti expressed the position that the release of games in subscription negatively affects their sales.
Frozenbyte is currently working on Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy. The game is expected to be released in the summer.
