The ABP Live edition writes that since the beginning of this month, the company has increased the cost of its flagship console to 55,990 rupees, which is 12% higher than the starting price.

Along with the Series X, Microsoft has also raised the prices of controllers.

The change did not affect the Xbox Series S, but earlier this year the console has already risen in price in the country by 6% to 35,990 rupees.

It is noteworthy that the increase occurred just a week after the head of Microsoft's gaming division, Phil Spencer, made a statement that the company would not be able to permanently keep the cost of its consoles, games and subscriptions.

The head of Xbox admitted that at some point they would still have to raise prices, but promised that it would not happen this holiday season.

As for India, Xbox is much less popular there than PlayStation.

Sony actually became a monopolist of the local gaming market, so Microsoft could start raising prices from a less important region for itself.

At the same time, not only Microsoft has increased the prices of its consoles in India. Sony also raised the cost of the PlayStation 5 this week, but this happened for the first time since launch.

Now the RRC for the model with a drive is 54,990 rupees instead of 49,990 rupees, and the diskless version has risen from 39,990 rupees to 44,990 rupees.

Before that, in August, the PS5 rose in price in Europe, Japan, the UK, Canada and a number of other countries.
