The head of Microsoft Gaming, Phil Spencer, in an interview with CNBC, said that the Redmond corporation sells the Xbox Series X|S noticeably cheaper than cost.
According to Spencer, depending on the model, Microsoft sells consoles for $100-200 below the production price. Recall that the Xbox Series X sells for $ 499, and the Xbox Series S for $ 299.
Spencer did not specify which of the consoles Microsoft loses more on sales, instead noting that the corporation plans to return the money through the sale of accessories and games for consoles.
Earlier, Spencer said that Microsoft will not be able to keep the current price level forever, and at some point the corporation will have to increase the cost of the goods.
