The comic action game Lollipop Chainsaw, created by Japanese game designer Goichi Suda, will receive in 2023 a full remake for modern platforms. The confirmation was published by IGN.

The release of the project will be handled by Dragami Games, which is headed by the producer of the original game and former head of Kadokawa Games Yoshimi Yasuda. The announcement is accompanied by a frame with the main character.

Yasuda said that a team consisting of original creators and newcomers is working on the remake. Dragami Games plans to recreate the game from scratch and promises a "more realistic approach to graphics".

The soundtrack had to be overwritten — many licensed tracks from the original Lollipop Chainsaw will be replaced by new music tracks. Recall that Lollipop Chainsaw is a dynamic action game from a third person, where players as a girl Juliet is offered directed by James Gunn, and Akira Yamaoka took the role of composer.

As the producer Yasuda explained, Lollipop Chainsaw is very important to him, so his new team bought the franchise rights from Kadokawa Games and undertook a remake, while enlisting the support of Warner Bros., which helped in 2012 with the international publishing of the game. The full list of remake platforms will be revealed later.
