Microsoft-owned studio Mojang set out its position on NFT and blockchain technology. The team made it clear that no form of NFT would appear in Minecraft.

NFTs are unique, non-interchangeable blocks of data stored in a decentralized registry called a blockchain, which allows users to buy and sell digital assets such as in-game items or art.

"In our Minecraft terms of use, there is information on how the server owner can charge access fees and that all players should have access to the same features," Mojang said.

“With these rules, we ensure that Minecraft remains a community where everyone has access to the same content.

NFTs can create models of scarcity and exclusivity that contradict our recommendations and the spirit of Minecraft, "the developers added.

Thus, Mojang prohibits the integration of blockchain technologies into its client and server applications.

In addition, it is not allowed to use these technologies to create in-game content, such as worlds, skins, objects for characters or any other mods.

Creators are not ready to see scarce digital assets in their childhood. A new Minecraft Legends action strategy was announced at the Xbox presentation last month.

The game, which is a joint development of Mojang and Blackbird Interactive, will be released in 2023 on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, Nintendo Switch and PC.
