The ElAnalistaDeBits channel has published a graphic comparison of the release version of Resident Evil 4 Remake on PlayStation consoles.
Like the demo, the full version of the game offers one mode of operation on the basic PS4 and two on the PS4 Pro and PS5. On PS4, the game runs at 900p on average at 45 frames per second.
On PS4 Pro, the game runs at 2160p on average at 30 frames per second in resolution mode and at 1080p on average at 55 frames per second in performance mode.
On the PS5, the game runs at 2160p on average at 55 frames per second in resolution mode and at 2160p at 60 frames per second in performance mode. All versions use temporal reconstruction.
In addition, the PS5 version allows you to activate raytracing for reflections and improve some refractions.
The difference is striking at the lake level, but in other parts of the game the changes are not so obvious.
The author recommends not to use the option, since without it there is a more stable FPS, and also disable chromatic aberration and lens distortion on all platforms.
On the PS5, the game looks better in almost every way, including animation, textures, levels of detail, lighting, shadows, post-processing effects, geometry, and so on, and downloads are five times faster.
In addition, only on current platforms it is possible to enable improved hair physics for Leon and other characters/animals, but the option causes problems in consistency with lighting in some areas.
The PS4 and PS4 Pro versions, in turn, were not without cuts. This can be observed by the absence of some shadows cast, especially in indoor lamps.
The number of destructible elements and vegetation animations has also been reduced, and there is a problem with loading textures.
