On February 10, EA and Maxis announced that they would not be releasing the new Wedding Story Pack for The Sims 4 in Russia. The reason was the impossibility of releasing the DLC in its full form in the country, as it contains the story of the same-sex couple Cam and Dominica.

At the same time, all games in the series and add-ons for them have always been freely released in Russia, with an 18+ rating, including those where LGBT content was present. EA's action was criticized and regarded as self-censorship. The developers have responded.

Today on the website of the game there was a new appeal from the team The Sims. The authors noted that they carefully studied the feedback from the players and after a "thorough analysis" of their capabilities, they nevertheless decided to publish the DLC in Russia .

At the same time, the add-on will be released without any changes, including the Dom and Cam storyline, which caused a scandal .

"For us, The Sims community is a comfortable space for everyone who believes in love without stereotypes. We are grateful to everyone who supports our team and shares our values. Thank you for being a part of The Sims community."

The developers also noted that they want The Sims community to be able to celebrate the release of Wedding Stories together, so they have postponed the release of the set worldwide, including Russia, by a week, from February 17 to February 23 .
