NVIDIA hosted the GeForce Beyond presentation, where it officially announced the fourth generation of its GeForce RTX gaming graphics accelerators. The new flagship of the line was the RTX 4090.

The graphics card is said to be two to four times more productive than the RTX 3090 Ti and will be available at $1,599. The release will take place on October 12.

Later in November, the RTX 4080 will be released in two versions: with 12 or 16 GB of GDDR6X memory. The first will cost customers $899, and the second - $300 more.

Specifications RTX 4090 and RTX 4080:The new graphics cards are powered by the Ada Lovelace architecture, which provides significant improvements in ray-traced lighting in games through the use of DLSS 3 technology.

According to NVIDIA, the new version of DLSS is capable of quadrupling the performance of forward computing rendering and will be supported by popular game engines, including Unreal Engine and Unity.

A feature of DLSS 3 will be a new feature called Optical Multi Frame Generation, which generates not just pixels, but completely new frames, thereby providing significant performance gains.

NVIDIA argues that because DLSS frame generation is performed as post-processing on the GPU, it can increase frame rate even when the game is stuck in CPU power. DLSS 3 will be released on October 12.

The technology will only work on RTX 40.

Its support has already been announced for 35 games, including Microsoft Flight Simulator, Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Hitman 3, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Atomic Heart, Hogwarts Legacy, Black Myth: Wukong, S. T. A. L. K. E. R 2: Heart of Chornobyl and many others.

The full list is here. Several game announcements were also made at the presentation.

NVIDIA unveiled the RTX remaster Portal and Racer RTX, a playable techno-demo with radio-controlled cars designed to showcase the company's latest achievements in the areas of tracing, DLSS and PhysX. Both projects will be released in November.
