Become Human will release the game Under The Waves about the all-consuming power of grief — trailer and details

The French company Quantic Dream, known for the creation of Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human, will be the publisher of the narrative adventure game Under The Wave from the developers of the studio Parallel Studio.

This was announced at the Gamescom 2022 opening ceremony.

Under the Waves will take players into the techno-futuristic 1970s and tell about the oil company diver Stan,  who explores the depths of the North Sea.

"This is a narrative adventure game about the all-consuming power of grief.

Events unfold in the techno-futuristic 70s of the last century in the deep North Sea, where professional diver Stan struggles to overcome the consequences of the loss that turned his life around and embrace a new future.

Isolation in the deep sea is best suited to his state of mind, and as Stan plunges deeper into his voluntary loneliness, strange things begin to happen to him deep under the waves.

In the end, he has to make a difficult choice: stay in the pit forever or get to the surface and spend the rest of his life there.

Singing the oceans, Under The Waves invites you to immerse yourself in a beautiful underwater world, expertly combining cinematic special effects and moving narrative.

Live a fascinating story through Stan's eyes and lead him through a series of unpredictable events that will plunge him deeper and deeper into the abyss that reflects his own soul.

Take a stroll through the vast seabed, steer Stan's bathyscaphe, and discover the beautiful fauna that only Stan has in his company while he's locked in his own head.

Explore caves, sunken ships, and submarines in Stan's special wetsuit, following the mysterious manifestations of his memories to find your way to the surface and save your life.

Collect materials and create equipment that will help Stan move forward along his self-knowledge journey.

Game developers want to draw public attention to the importance of ocean conservation.

They joined forces with the non-profit association Surfrider Foundation Europe, which is responsible for the protection of lakes, rivers, oceans and coastlines, and Quantic Dream will support it financially as a publisher of Under The Waves.

Under The Waves will be released in 2023 on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
