Recall that at the end of April, members of Keywords, involved in testing games and working under a contract, filed an application to form a trade union. The reason was a number of factors, including the need to work in an office, which was particularly negatively received two years ago during the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Also, studio employees were unhappy with the conditions - in particular, low wages and the lack of a two-week paid vacation in case of coronavirus.
There is reason to believe that BioWare deliberately made concessions in the hope that Keywords would reverse the decision to form a union.
It should be noted that accusations of large companies of unfair treatment of contract employees have increasingly begun to appear in the media. Relatively recent and high-profile examples include IGN's investigation into Nintendo of America.
