During the CD Projekt financial conference for investors and analysts, the company's executives commented on the transition to Unreal Engine 5 for the next part of The Witcher.

CEO Adam Kiczyński, in particular, answered the question of whether the development of the game will accelerate the change of engine to a new one. He noted that Unreal Engine is a proven technology, so the production of the game should go smoother, but not necessarily faster. Developers expect to be able to better control processes and focus more on the creative side.

According to the experience of CD Projekt, Unreal Engine 5 is quite suitable for games with the open world, and the company believes that it can help to make it even better. In addition, there is much more in the industry developers who have experience with Red Engine, so CD Projekt considers the transition to a new engine also as an opportunity to expand their team by hiring more experienced personnel.

The new Witcher was officially confirmed in March. The game director of the project will be Jason Slama, who in recent years headed the team of "Screw", and before that acted as a senior programmer of the user interface The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
