Deadline announces a new star addition to the caste of the second part of the "Dune" directed by Dani Villeneuve.

Oscar-winning Hollywood veteran Christopher Walken joined the fantasy movie. According to sources, the actor will embody the image of the Emperor on the screen.

Production of the sequel is expected to begin this fall, and the premiere is scheduled for October 20, 2023. John Spates again writes the script with Vilnius, and Timothy Shalame, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya and Josh Brolin should return from the original cast at least. They are also joined by Florence Pugh and Austin Butler.

The first "Dune" was released in October 2021 simultaneously on HBO Max and in cinemas, but even with a release on this exceeded expectations and led to a quick endorsement of the sequel a few weeks later. To date, the film has earned more than $400 million in global distribution, including $108 million in the domestic market. The film also won six Oscars in ten nominations.
