Respawn Entertainment has announced on its blog the closure of mobile Apex Legends.

Despite the fact that the online shooter was awarded the "Game of the Year" by Apple and Google, the studio cited the situation with updates as the reason for its cancellation - they are late and leave much to be desired.

After discussing the emerging trend with a development partner, it was decided to discontinue support for the mobile version. "At Respawn, we strive to give players outstanding games.

After the confident launch of the content production pipeline, Apex Legends Mobile began to lag behind the bar in terms of quality, quantity and rhythm of released updates.

It is for this reason that, after several months of working with our partner, we made a joint decision to close our mobile game.

We are disappointed with the current situation, but we are proud of the game and would like to thank the Apex Legends community for their support.

We are sure that this is the right decision for the players." The cancellation also affected Battlefield Mobile from the studio Industrial Toys, which was acquired in 2018.

Respawn emphasizes that Vince Zampella has a vision for the future of Battlefield, which does not include the current mobile game. "We are evaluating how mobile devices fit into our strategy.

We remain determined to unlock the enormous potential of Battlefield.

Work on the development of Battlefield 2042 continues, as well as the preparation of future games of the franchise, and many studios around the world are involved in this."

EA will close the Industrial Toys studio, which was developing a mobile shooter. Forces are currently focused on releasing new updates for Battlefield 2042.
