So, from 2025, about 20% of Sony's new game releases will be intended for smartphones. At the same time, the number of games for PlayStation 5 will also grow.

PlayStation Studios Mobile will be responsible not only for its own developments. The vacancies state that it is an "inter-functional management, strategy, licensing and support team."

The task of the division is not only to produce its own products — it will have to decide which PlayStation franchises are suitable for mobile adaptation, as well as ensure that the final product meets the expectations of management.

In addition, a key requirement for employees is experience in the segment of shareware games.

One of the vacancies says: "game design support is required within the framework of internal projects and consulting on projects with external partners, economic management and the development of the player retention function."

Last year Sony acquired Savage Game Studios. The vacancies say that she is developing a high-budget mobile action game with elements of game services.

Judging by the vacancies, the studio needs a specialist familiar with Unreal Engine.

The Verge also emphasizes that PlayStation Studios Mobile will cooperate with the main divisions of PlayStation so that teams develop mobile games — the head of the mobile products department will be responsible for games from internal studios and third-party developers.

A few years ago, Sony already launched a mobile division to work with PlayStation franchises, but only in Japan. It has received the name ForwardWorks and cannot yet boast of great success.

Prior to ForwardWorks, the Japanese company also launched PlayStation Mobile, a developer software that allows you to develop and host custom applications created on certified PlayStation devices.

However, it also failed to gain its audience.
