Chris Novak, head of research and design at Xbox, left his post after nearly 20 years at Microsoft. He told about this on his page on the social network LinkedIn. April 19 was his last day working in the corporation.
"I left Xbox and Microsoft. Today, on the 19th, my last day at the company, "he wrote. "I came to Xbox in November 2002, so I realize that after almost 20 years, this news may be both unexpected and expected."
Although Novak did not detail the reason for his departure, he explained that he had been planning to leave for several years due to some factors unrelated to the Xbox.
Novak joined Xbox as director of design and in seven years in this role managed to work on Project Gotham Racing 2-4, Crackdown and Forza Motorsport. In September 2009, he took the position of design architect in Microsoft Studios and joined the first design team of HoloLens. He was also a designer for Xbox interior studios and had a hand in games such as Quantum Break, Sunset Overdrive, and Ryse: Son of Rome. Since October 2016, Novak has been the head of research and design at Xbox, where he leads the work to improve and develop user experience in all areas of Microsoft gaming.
According to Novak, the years of work in the company left him only joyful memories. He will continue to be a supporter Xbox.
