According to Jeff Grubb of VentureBeat, the new major acquisition of Sony Interactive Entertainemnt will be more than rumors about the purchase of Kojima Productions.

At the end of March, Grubb and Greg Miller, the host of the Kida Funny Games podcast, told that they heard from their sources about the upcoming major purchase of another studio / company by Sony. The deal was supposed to be announced soon.

Then there was talk online about what Sony could buy from Kojima Productions. Users made this conclusion after an updated banner of games from PlayStation Studios, where Death Stranding: Director's Cut was added, but yesterday Kojima himself denied the rumor, saying that Kojima Productions was and remains an independent studio.

Death Stranding: Director's Cut among the titles of PlayStation Studios is due to the fact that the reissue was released under the new Sony label, which since 2020 has marked both games from internal studios and projects created by an external team under the control of PlayStation.
