The head of PlayStation, Jim Ryan, said that his team is preparing a "cloud expansion", which he will talk about in the coming months.

After analyzing the market situation, Sony experts came to the conclusion that among the PlayStation 5 audience there is a request for the ability to launch console games outside of their home and TV, and the platform holder is ready to implement it.

Ryan declined to go into details, noting only that Sony has "interesting ideas" and "aggressive plans" for the development of the cloud gaming segment.

In recent years, Sony has tried to offer PlayStation users the opportunity to stream games over the cloud as part of the PlayStation Now program, but it did not operate in all regions and was not very popular.

Recently, rumors appeared on the web that the company is preparing a new portable gaming system designed to use Remote Play in conjunction with the PlayStation 5.

According to Tom Henderson, it will offer an 8-inch touchscreen LCD display with built-in controls on the sides, resembling a split DualSense gamepad, and will be able to remotely launch games from the main console in quality up to 1080p and 60 FPS.

The launch of the device may take place in the fall of 2023.
