Konami Announces Remasters of First Two Suikoden — Release Targeted for 2023

A major announcement of Konami at the Tokyo Game Show 2022 was the Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars.

The company promised to present a game related to the classic franchise at the Japanese exhibition, and in a couple of months before it updated the trademark of the classic series of role-playing games.

Remasters will be released in 2023 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC (in Russian Steam you cannot buy the game).

Buyers are waiting for various graphical improvements: developers processed background illustrations and updated the effects to "breathe new life into pixel images."

Also, the musical component was reworked, new sounds and effects were presented in HD, adding a "new level of realism".

Suikoden has acquired the auto-save feature, battle acceleration, and quest magazine. A trailer and screenshots of Suikoden I & II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars can be seen below.

The original Suikoden in the jRPG genre was released in 1995 on the first PlayStation. The story is based on the classic Chinese novel "River Winds" and its main theme is the military plot.

Suikoden II was released in 1998 again on the PlayStation. Genso Suikoden I & II was released in 2006.

It was available exclusively in Japan on the PlayStation Portable.
