Krafton had a record revenue quarter of $405.7 million

Krafton, known for the royal battle PUBG: Battlegrounds, reported record revenue for the first quarter of 2022. It amounted to 405.7 million dollars, and this is a record high quarterly income for the company.

During this period, revenue grew 17.8% quarter-on-quarter and 13.5% year-over-year. At the same time, operating profit amounted to 241.9 million dollars, and net profit - 190.2 million dollars.

The sharp increase in profits was driven by cuts in operating expenses, including marketing and other expenses. The transition of PUBG: Battlegrounds to a free-to-play basis in January 2022 also played a role. This led to an increase in the number of average monthly active users by almost three times.

According to Krafton, the number of paid users has more than doubled since the beginning of the year. As a result, the sale of PUBG: Battlegrounds for PC brought in $82.3 million, up 61% year on year. And sales of console versions grew by 124% compared to the same quarter last year.

This year Krafton is set to release new games such as Callisto Protocol and Project M, a new project from the creators of Subnautica.
