Few major gaming companies in our time do without accusations of harassment, low pay and other unpleasant things.

The turn of Nintendo has come - the IGN publication, on the rights of preservation of anonymity, spoke with a number of employees of the American division of the company working under a contract and complained of a bad attitude towards themselves.

In particular, Nintendo of America is accused of unwillingness to enroll most of the employees in the state, although they, according to them, work almost to the point of wear and tear. Because going full-time not only guarantees benefits and higher pay, but also career advancement, the vast majority leave before they've even worked for a year.

One of the employees, who was interviewing for a transfer to the state, was forced to leave home due to the death of a relative - she was later reproached for "attendance problems."

Another unfortunate event was the closure of the Redwood City office. A fairly large percentage of employees who worked at home were then given an ultimatum - to move to Washington, where the American office is located, or to look for another job.

Reggie Fis-Aimé, who led Nintendo of America from 2006 to 2019, told IGN that during his tenure, the company regularly hired people into full-time positions.

“This is not the same culture that I left behind when I left Nintendo.”

Note that the IGN material is similar in meaning to the Kotaku article published a little earlier, which described exactly the same problems. At the same time, a complaint was also mentioned by one of the employees to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) - allegedly he was fired after he raised the topic of trade unions at a meeting.

By the way, about the latter - at the end of April, a group of testers Keywords Studios, one of whose clients is BioWare, filed an application to form a trade union.
