The Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 flight simulator, announced last night at the Xbox Games Showcase, will be a completely new game in the series.
This is not an extension for the current version of Microsoft Flight Simulator or its next re-release, as some players might think.
In the Xbox Wire blog, the developers confirmed that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is a completely new part of the franchise, which is being developed using the latest advances in simulation, cloud technology, machine learning, graphics and gameplay to provide fans with "the most perfect, immersive and impressive flight simulator of all time."
As a game engine, a "significantly improved" version of Asobo Studio's own toolkit is used, which will achieve an "unprecedented level of quality".

Players will be able to try on the role of a rescuer, a test pilot, a scientific researcher, a racer pilot and test their strength in many other aviation specialties.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will be released next year on Xbox Series X|S and PC (including Steam), as well as in the Xbox Cloud Gaming cloud service.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have access to the game from the first day.
