NIS America Publishing House will release a Falcon role-playing game called Ys IX: Monstrum Nox on PlayStation 5.
The release will take place in the spring of 2023, the company announced in a press release.
An option for a modern system will include all previously released content in the form of downloadable cosmetic items. The action of Ys IX: Monstrum Nox takes place after the events of Ys Seven.
The red-haired adventurer Adol Kristin and his companion Dogi arrive in the city of Balduk, annexed by the Romon Empire. The hero is detained and arrested on the threshold.
Once in prison, Adl meets a mysterious woman Aprilis, who turns him into a monster with supernatural abilities and the ability to expel monsters.
Now the hero must unite with his comrades to save the world and find out the truth about the curse. The NIS America online store has opened a pre-order for a special edition at a price of $89.99.
It includes a copy of the game, a CD with the official soundtrack, a prequel of the novel "The Lost Sword", a collection of art cards, a puzzle of 200 parts and a collector's box.
Initially, Ys IX: Monstrum Nox was released on September 26, 2019 on PlayStation 4 in Japan, February 2, 2021 in North America and February 5, 2021 in Europe.
This was followed by PC and Google Stadia versions. The European version for the Nintendo Switch hybrid console was released on July 9, 2021, and the Japanese version on September 9, 2021.
