Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon to be inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame

NetherRealm Studios creative director and Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon will be inducted into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) Hall of Fame.

The gala ceremony will take place as part of the 25th annual DICE Awards 2022 . The award will be presented by Matt Booty, Head of Xbox Game Studios.

Boone will be the 25th inductee of the Hall of Fame along with Todd Howard, Shigeru Miyamoto, Gabe Newell, Hideo Kojima and other recognized industry legends . The Hall of Fame honors developers who have been instrumental in creating the most influential games and driving a particular genre.

"From his early work on pinball machines to monumental achievements in creating Mortal Kombat franchise, Ed's dedication and dedication to the craft and art of gaming have left an incredible legacy for fans and developers alike."
