Nintendo plans to continue releasing films based on its franchises.

For many years, the Japanese company resisted the creation of adaptations, not wanting to turn games into movies or TV series after the failure of "Super Mario Brothers" in 1993.

Nintendo kept as far away from Hollywood as possible until the current moment, until the cartoon "Super Mario Brothers in the Cinema" was released on the screens, which became a real super hit.

The tape, created in collaboration with Illumination Studio, has already earned more than $ 800 million and inspired the platform holder.

Game designer and creator of a number of cult series of the Japanese company Shigeru Miyamoto, in a conversation with the Nihon Keizai Shimbun news site, said that he has no doubt that Nintendo will release more film adaptations of its franchises in the future.

However, the developer refrained from any announcements or hints and did not specify which games and when to expect adaptations.

Note that unlike many other companies that simply sell licenses for their game series to Hollywood studios, Nintendo was directly involved in the production of the animated hit of 2023.

Super Mario's father Shigeru Miyamoto produced the film, and the platform holder shared the financing with Universal Pictures.
